I’ve been thinking the past few days about New Year’s resolutions. Usually most folks don’t keep their resolutions for more than a few months at best. Last year I said that I wouldn’t eat after 9 pm. I did awesome with this until summer rolled around. I wish I had kept up with it more. This year, I’m wondering if there are goals I can set for myself that can be realistically achieved instead of really lofty ones.
For example:
Unrealistic/Realistic
Only watch 3 hours of television a week. / Watch less television.
Don’t eat sweets. / Eat until I’m full and if that means I have room for dessert, fantastic! If not, leave it.
Work out 5 days a week. / Work out more often than I do now.
Read a book a week. (I hope to achieve this eventually…) / Read one book a month outside of school assignments.
Over the next few days I’m going to be creating my resolutions and I fully plan to stick to them. I have a feeling that 2010 is going to be a good year. I’m graduating, for pete’s sake! If nothing else, that certainly makes 2010 a winner.
Are you setting any resolutions this year? What are they?
